Notes
A release from the project **GEMS** yardsale tapes.
-I'll leave it up to the listener to find all the patches, source changes and what not. I dont keep that good of notes.
-The good stuff is MR>cass and MR>cass>cass from the yardsale benefactor.
-The multi generation sources that fill in the parts the yardsale tapes didnt have were quickly and graciously transferred by the venerable Matt Smith for this release.
-No patch in birdsong, small reel flip.
-The encore is very rough and it was the only song with any sonic adjustments. You are forewarned.
- LLer USBlues also had a hand in some patch material. And both were instrumental in the work and qc on this. Thanks Guys!!
I kid you not when i say this was a a herculean project, so much that I avoided it for weeks at a time..had the tapes for a good while. So its finally done and there are still some serious inconsistencies, but its way better thans whats out there and i have a lot to do. I corrected almost every tune pitch wise. It's pretty good now but was on some songs it was 1% off and some closer to 3%, with no ryhme or reason to it aLL. Took a lot of listening. It takes about 9 hours in high resolutiuon to correct one 45 minute tape side. Lots of trial and error, so dont expect a miracle but a generally pleasant listening experience.
My transfers were TascamMKII >Korg MR1000 at 1bit/5.6mHZ.

Subject: Steal your face
referring to 11/19/2023
makes me say that by the Third Set
this is every bit as bad @ss
as the Oregon Country fair
the week before.
Set Three:
I like the song choices
Rain & Snow
Sugar Magnolia
Those two are crack a lacking good
Some impassioned backing vocals by Phil
And then fine versions of;
Deal
Jack Straw (location, location)
Ramble on Rose
Followed by a rarity;
ROCKIN Boogie Woogie flu,,
And by the time they reach
NFA-)GDTRFB-)GDTRFB
It sure is Rocky Mountain High!!
E) Saturday Night-fish bowl version
Subject: Patches picked
Subject: Saturday Night encore?
Subject: Super Bonus tracks
I do have to give only 3 to 4 stars for the lack of quality available sources for this great music, but a strong 4 to 4.5 stars musically for this 3 set mammoth.
Subject: best version on here

Maybe a Charlie Miller remaster will pop up soon? Lets hope...this show needs it bad. The highlights for me are Mexicali Blues, China Cat, He's Gone > Other One > Wharf Rat, Playing In The Band.

1972, 100% devoid of MH.
Best sounding MP3 version/copy on the IA so far.
All the GRATEFUL DEAD shows on the IA are MP3, this one included.
I highly recommend adding this show to your 1972 GRATEFUL DEAD collection. The recording is not perfect and does have its issues.
I recommend using your EQ during playback of most of the shows on the IA, this one included.
Windows Media Player has a 10 band EQ and SRS WOW effects that enhance the sound. RealPlayer comes free with a 3 band EQ.
Here's one way to "stream/download" this show:
The IA recommends users of Windows XP view this web-page with RealPlayer.
RealPlayer is a free media player you can download at www.realplayer.com.
Using RealPlayer to view this webpage, click the VBR M3U link to open the songs in the Playlist.
If your Playlist is not open, open it by clicking the Playlist icon at the lower right hand corner of RealPlayer.
Once the songs are in the Playlist, double click the song to play it, then click the 'record' button at the lower left hand corner of Realplayer to record it.
When the red line reaches the other end click the stop button to download the song. Your song is in the RealPlayer Downloads folder.
Repeat these steps for each song.
OR
Take the "audio out" of the "headphone jack" on your computer and hook it up to the "input" on your Reel-to-Reel, Cassette, Beta-Max, VHS, CD, DVD, MP3 recorder and record it in real time....duh?
